Week of May 4 — Lay the Foundation: The Foundation Starts Here
Hello Caiman Football Families,
I hope everyone is doing well as we move into an exciting time for our program.
Spring football is here, and we are looking forward to getting started together. This phase of our program is where we begin to lay the foundation for everything that follows.
It’s important to understand that spring and summer are one continuous phase for our team. From our first meeting through the end of July, we are focused on learning, growing, and building habits that will carry into the season.
This is not about being perfect right away.
This is about showing up, learning, and getting better each day.
Spring Football Meeting (Players Only) — This Week Friday at Lunch, Weightroom
We will begin with our Spring Football Meeting for players, where we will cover:
- Schedule and key dates
- Expectations for players
- Communication moving forward
- What to expect during spring and into summer
This meeting is important for our players so they are clear on what we are building and how we will move forward together.
A parent meeting will take place at the Fall Sports Summit on May 19 in Caiman Hall, beginning at 6:00 PM, where we will review program expectations and answer questions.

What Spring Football Is (and Is Not)
Spring football is:
- An opportunity to learn the game
- A time to build habits and consistency
- A chance for new and returning players to grow
Spring football is not:
- A tryout
- About depth charts
- About having everything figured out
No prior experience is required. We welcome all athletes who are willing to show up, work, and be part of something bigger than themselves.
Multi-Sport Athletes
We fully support our multi-sport athletes and want them to finish their seasons strong, especially those in playoff runs.
If you are currently in-season:
- Your priority is your current team
- If possible, you are welcome to attend and observe spring practices
We believe competing in multiple sports helps develop better athletes and teammates, and we support you in honoring those commitments.
Our Standard
The most important thing we ask this spring is simple:
Be there. Be engaged. Be willing to learn.
Attendance matters—not because we expect perfection, but because the foundation of our program starts with who shows up.
As we begin this journey together, remember:
Spring starts the foundation. Summer builds on it.
We are excited to get started and to continue building our program the right way—with consistency, effort, and a commitment to each other.

Spring Standard: Show up. Learn. Compete. Build.
