Week of July 12 — Build on the Foundation: Pick Up Where We Left Off

Hello Caiman Football Families,

We are excited to return this week as our summer practices and weight training resume.

After our two-week no-contact period, we now move into an important stretch as we continue building toward the season.

This Week’s Focus: Pick Up Where We Left Off

Our expectation as we return is simple:

We do not start over.

Everything we worked on in the spring and early summer—our habits, our systems, our standards—should still be in place.

We are not rebuilding the foundation. We are continuing to build on it.

What This Week Will Show

The past two weeks gave our players an opportunity to take ownership of their development.

As we return, we will quickly see:

  • Who stayed consistent
  • Who maintained their conditioning
  • Who retained what they learned

This is a normal part of the process. Some players will be ready to move forward. Others will need to refocus and catch up.

For Our Players

This is a reset in mindset, not in expectation.

The standard remains:

  • Show up ready
  • Stay engaged
  • Compete with effort

If you stayed consistent during the break, now is your time to build on that.

If you did not, now is your time to respond and get back on track.

What matters most is how you respond moving forward.

On the Field and in the Weight Room

We will continue:

  • Installing and reviewing our systems
  • Reinforcing habits and fundamentals
  • Developing strength and conditioning

The pace will pick up slightly as we move closer to the season, but our focus remains on development and consistency.

Looking Ahead

We are now entering the final phase of our summer.

The work we do over the next two weeks will directly impact how prepared we are when official practices begin at the end of July.

The foundation has been set. Now we build with purpose.
