Boys Water Polo Preseason

Hi Caiman Families,

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer! I’m excited to get the season started and can’t wait to work with the team.

Unfortunately, we were not approved for pool access until July 31, so our preseason schedule will look a little different than planned. Here’s the game plan for July 20–31:

Week 1

  • Monday, July 20: No Practice
  • Tuesday, July 21: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Wednesday, July 22: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Thursday, July 23: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Friday, July 24: Beach Workout at Oceanside Harbor, 7:00–9:00 AM (Meet at the free parking lot located at 401 Riverside Dr., Oceanside, CA 92054. We will head over to the beach together)

Week 2

  • Monday, July 27: No Practice
  • Tuesday, July 28: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Wednesday, July 29: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Thursday, July 30: Weight Room at Classical, 6:00–8:00 AM
  • Friday, July 31: Pool Practice at the YMCA in Escondido, 6:00–8:00 AM

Beginning Monday, August 3, we will transition to our regular in-season practice schedule:

Monday–Friday: 6:00–8:00 AM
YMCA Escondido
1050 N Broadway
Escondido, CA 92026

This season we will be practicing exclusively at the YMCA in Escondido and will no longer be splitting practices between Wagner and Palomar.

While preseason practices are not mandatory, I strongly encourage everyone to attend as many sessions as possible. These workouts will help the team build strength, improve conditioning, and prepare for the start of the season. The work we put in during these two weeks will make a big difference once the season begins.

If your athlete is currently participating in club water polo, please plan to attend our first preseason workout on Tuesday, July 21, so we can discuss schedules and create a plan that works for both commitments.

Please also make sure your athletic clearance is completed through the school before attending practice. I know many athletes have already completed their clearance, but if your athlete has not, please make sure it is finished as soon as possible so they are eligible to practice.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call me. I’ll do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

Let’s have a great season!

Go Caimans!

Thanks,

Bryce Sammons
