Swim & Dive News 3/23
Hello Caimans and Caiman Families!
Wow! We had our first dual meet and we killed it! We had it all…fast swimming, PRs and first time swimmers! The coaches are all so so proud of all the work you have put in. We are also so proud of our diver, Eden, who dove very well on Wednesday night at Wagner pool in Oceanside getting first place!
This week’s word (sorry I forgot to put the word in last week) is accountability. Where there is accountability, there is respect. These go together. Ways we can all be accountable: show up on time, making sure others can rely on you to be there for our competition, admit when you are wrong, being responsible for your actions. This applies everywhere.
More people qualified for CIF and we will be mentioning those people on Wednesday before the meet (in our own circle). I saw everyone get involved with “clipping” eachother with the clothespins we made. Let’s keep up the positive morale among our team this coming Wednesday (home meet) as well as Friday (away meet).
Here is a run down for the next two weeks since we have spring break coming up and we do have practice everyday during that week (one of them being a beach day!).
This week:
Monday- 3/23 craft/activity 1:40-2:00
weight room 2:00-3:00
swim 3:30-5:00 (notice the early out)
Tuesday 3/24- swim practice 3:30-5:30 and diving meet for Eden at Wagner pool at 6:00
Wed 3/25 swim meet– 5 star typically releases you at 1:45 for home meets. (Check your 5 star app) This will be at James stone pool- We will get to the pool at 2:00 to set up since we are hosting. We will warm up from 2:30-3:15 then Pacific Ridge arrives and they warm up. We will be in odd lanes. Swim meet starts at 4:00- please be sure to sign up to be a timer if you haven’t already and thank you to those that have. You only need to push a button when each race ends. We can train you! A big thank you to all of you who did it last week and who have already signed up on the sign up genius (at the top of the main chat in GroupMe.
After the meet we will be going to our team dinner at Raising Cane’s in Escondido. (address is on the schedule). If you prefer to order your food earlier in the day or get it to go, that is fine, just please mention Classical Academy swim and dive.
Thursday 3/26- practice 3:30-5:30 pm
Friday- 3/27 – no practice this day- pizza selling day in the back quad- signs ups will be during this week on GroupMe.
Swim meet versus High Tech High at Alga Norte in Carlsbad at 7 pm. arrival time is 5:45pm. No van provided. After, team dinner at Pizza Port!(address on the schedule)
Please note our practice times for Spring Break:
Monday 3/30 and Wednesday 4/1 9:00 am-12:00pm
Tuesday 3/31 and Thursday 4/2 2:00pm-5:00pm
Friday 4/3- Beach Day at Moonlight Beach!
Also please note that we swim against RBV on 4/9, not 4/29 as Caiman sports.com states. It is correct on our schedule (located at the top of the groupme). So that week we have two meets. 4/7 versus Coastal (away) and versus 4/9 RBV (home).- We need everyone for the meet on 4/7.
This was a lot of information but please make sure you adjust your calendars as needed. Any questions, please reach out!
Thanks Caimans.
