Mountain Bike News 3/16

Hello athletes and families!

We had an exciting weekend of racing at Lake Cachuma, Santa Barbara County!  No high school racers but our middle schoolers raced SO strong and all had top 10 finishes in warm, windy and dry conditions! Coaches and athletes all had a blast riding these fun trails!

Congrats to 8th grader Evan Murphy, who, after working so hard on the team for three years, earned a spot on the podium!  It was a nail-biter as he was in a tight race to the end! Evan’s competitor had been sitting on Evan’s wheel for the long climb back, then passed him close to the finish, only for Evan to pass HIM on the final turn of the race with a sprint to the line!  Needless to say, there was A LOT of screaming and cheering!
