Girls Golf News 8/25

Caiman family, the girls golf season is finally upon us. The next couple weeks will be about getting back into the swing of things and preparing for the season ahead. Please make sure your student is ready to go. They will need some clubs, comfy shoes (golf shoes are not necessary but will help with traction), a water bottle as it’s hot out there and plenty of sunscreen.

Wednesday 8/27 will be the first day of “tryouts” where the students will go through a basic skills assessment and we go over the season. We will be meeting on the south putting green at the Vineyard GC in Escondido (our home course) after school- roughly 3:15ish or whenever you can make it and will take roughly a couple hours.
Thursday 8/28 is the final day of tryouts and the girls will do a  warm up followed by playing nine holes. Show up time is 4pm although i’ll be there around 3 and the tee times start at 5 and we will be on the course until around sunset. If we go out on the course, practice will usually take until sundown. The kids are required to walk the course, so please make sure their bags are lite or you have a pushcart for them. This tryout will be mostly to figure out what we need to work on during practices and not to determine if they make the team. All kids who want to play golf are encouraged to come out and have some fun.
Wednesday 9/4 is just a practice day–after school until about 5pm- the first week we will work on mostly putting. Giving them drills and games to improve their skills as well as bond in a team mentality.
Thursday 9/5 is just a practice day– after school until about 5pm- we will be going over putting mainly but each practice day will have range time and shots around the short game area!
—- the following week we will get out on the course and do more practice while playing
—we will be setting up the team fundraiser so please be on the lookout for that
— our goal is to add to your students success using the foundations of the 4Fs, fun, fitness, friendship and future!
–looking forward to seeing all soon
