Caimans Baseball Weekly Update
It was a competitive week for the novice and varsity levels for the Caimans, highlighted by strong individual performances, a big varsity win, and continued development as league play pushes forward. The group continues to show resilience in tight games and progress on both sides of the ball.
Freshman (Novice) Recap
The Caimans dropped a 6-2 contest to Point Loma, but there were several bright spots from the Classical group. Lucas Hodge got the offense going early, driving in a run to help tie the game in the first. Gianni Filpi and Sawyer Petrie led the way at the plate with two hits apiece, consistently putting together quality at-bats. Filpi and Hodge each contributed an RBI, while Petrie also made an impact on the bases with two steals.
On the mound, Gianni Hernandez delivered a strong outing, going four innings while allowing just one hit and striking out five. The effort kept the game within reach and showed continued growth on the hill.
Varsity Recap
Varsity battled through a tough three-game set with Bishop’s, coming away with a hard-fought win and competing in every inning across the series.
Earlier in the week, Trevor Hoff sparked the offense with an RBI triple, while Luke Longo, Travis Perry, and Timothy Gosselin each added hits in a tightly contested extra-innings game.
The highlights were plentiful in Thursday’s 7-3 win. Timothy Gosselin had a standout performance, driving in three runs including a key home run. Travis Perry added a home run of his own and finished with multiple hits, while Sammy McNemar also went deep to help power the offense. Landon Falk and Tommy Swenson contributed multi-hit games as the lineup produced consistently top to bottom. On the mound, Chaeton Revilla turned in a complete-game effort, limiting damage and keeping control throughout.
In Saturday’s narrow 3-2 loss, Perry and Falk again led the offense with two hits each, continuing to be steady contributors. Rocco Albao added an RBI, while the team once again showed the ability to generate offense and compete in a close game.
