As we wrap up another competitive week across all levels of the program, we want to wish all of our Caimans families a Happy Easter. We hope everyone had a great weekend celebrating and spending time with family.
Novice Team Recap
The Freshman Caimans played a full slate of games this week, showing growth, speed on the bases, and continued offensive production.
The week opened with a tough 11-7 loss to Scripps Ranch, despite jumping out to an early lead. The Caimans showed great plate discipline with eight walks and aggressive base running, totaling 10 stolen bases.
Gianni Filpi led the offense going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs
Grayson Gagnon, Filpi, and Sawyer Petrie each had multi-hit games
Multiple players, including Mac West and Joey White, made an impact on the bases
The Caimans bounced back with a 5-3 win over El Camino, highlighted by a dominant performance from Gianni Filpi, who went a perfect 3-for-3.
Logan Johnson was strong on the mound, throwing 5 innings and allowing just 1 unearned run
Gianni Hernandez and Sawyer Petrie delivered key extra-base hits during a big fifth inning rally
They followed that with another strong showing in a 6-1 victory over El Camino.
Lucas Hodge set the tone with 3 scoreless innings and 4 strikeouts
Mac West added solid relief work
The team continued to pressure defenses with 5 stolen bases
The week closed with a 4-1 loss to El Camino, despite out-hitting their opponent.
Logan Johnson went 2-for-3 with an RBI
Sawyer Petrie added a multi-hit performance
Junior Varsity Recap
JV put together one of their most complete performances of the season in an 11-3 win over Coastal Academy.
Isaiah Pfingsten led the way with a huge day, going 3-for-3 with a home run, double, and 4 RBIs
The offense totaled 13 hits, with Ryan Torres, Logan Toro, Mateo Fracassi, and Troy Peppler all collecting multiple hits
Dominic Fracassi delivered 5 strong innings on the mound, allowing no earned runs
Aiden Birkel closed the game with 2 scoreless innings
The Caimans also stayed aggressive on the bases, adding 4 stolen bases in the win.
Varsity Recap
Varsity faced a challenging schedule this week, competing in several tight games and finishing strong with a big win.
The week included multiple close contests, including a 3-2 loss to Mt. Carmel and a 4-3 walk-off loss to Coronado, both games that came down to late innings.
Timothy Gosselin drove in both runs against Mt. Carmel
Benny Nance recorded a multi-hit game vs Coronado
Luke Longo delivered key RBIs in multiple games throughout the week
Against Carson, the Caimans showed resilience, battling back from a large deficit before falling 9-7.
Miguel Monteon led with 3 RBIs
The team showed patience at the plate with 9 walks
In a high-scoring game vs Del Norte, the offense continued to produce:
Benny Nance went 3-for-4
Trevor Hoff added a multi-hit performance
Luke Longo drove in 3 runs
The week ended on a high note with a 10-5 win over Francis Parker.
Miguel Monteon and Trevor Hoff each had 3 RBIs and multi-hit games
Both players also homered as part of a big early offensive surge
Quaid O’Carroll earned the win on the mound
