Week of October 19 — Ownership
The final strikes of the hammer belong to the blacksmith alone.
No one else can finish the work. The steel has been heated, shaped, refined, and tested, but the final product depends on someone taking ownership of every last detail. The same is true of our season. Coaches can teach, teammates can encourage, and leaders can inspire—but each player is responsible for the standard they bring every day.
At Caiman Football, ownership means taking responsibility for your attitude, your effort, and your actions. It means refusing to make excuses, accepting coaching with humility, and understanding that every decision you make affects the team. Ownership isn’t about pointing fingers when something goes wrong. It’s about looking in the mirror first and asking, “What can I do better?”
Great teams are built by players who don’t wait for someone else to lead. They choose to own their role, serve their teammates, and finish what they started.
Ask yourself: What part of our team’s success is my responsibility this week?
