We had a successful league playoff this past Wednesday at OG. Four out of twelve players advanced and will compete in CIF Individuals May 4th and 5th at Balboa Tennis Center in San Diego.

Congratulations to Sid Nestman, who defeated our very own Carter in the finals. Sid won first place in Singles, followed by Carter winning second place. Our doubles team, Caleb and Alex, were semi-finalists and will also compete & represent our beloved Caimans in Doubles Individual CIF.

Now, with the “Breaking” news of CIF Team draw, we have been placed in Division 1 (see attached draw). I am still in disbelief that we have moved up two levels. I am unsure whether to take it as a compliment or severe unfairness. In my 11 years of experience coaching high school tennis, no team has ever climbed two levels but I could be wrong.

I have written emails to our AD to consider appealing, but it may be too late as it is the weekend, and AD staff will mostly respond on Monday.

Let’s do our best – stay positive & play your hearts out!  May it be a significant win or loss – we will & always be the classiest CAIMANS who competed with the best of the best & who made history in moving two levels !
