Mountain Bike News 4/6


Weekly update April 6, 2026

Welcome back from break!  It will be good to get in some riding this week with the team AND have cooler weather!  NO SATURDAY PRACTICE due to Kernville Race (and likely a lot of rain!)  This is a big update, so please read it.

Spring Break Challenge- I hope you all had a chance to do some of the challenges over break! Be sure to submit your tasks by 6pm Monday the 6th (tonight!)  See my last email for all the details!  You will NOT be able to submit after 6pm or at practice tomorrow.  The Spring Break Challenge RAFFLE will happen at the start of practice tomorrow, Tuesday!  You do not need to be present to win.

Racing the Quick n Dirty local series!  We have an amazing local race series in our own backyard!  These events are open to the public and include children’s races, youth/schoolboy & girl and adults; beginners to expert racers welcome!  Thursday nights beginning April 30th and running into June.  Many of our coaches and team riders will race!  This is a family-friendly event and is fun for both racers and spectators!  *This is not an event organized by the Classical Academy MTB Team. A separate waiver and registration fee is needed to compete.

SAVE the Date- Team Party -Sunday, May 17th 2:00pm   Our End of Season Team Party is always a blast!  All athletes, coaches and family members are welcome.  The party will be at coaches Brian and Stacey Mendenhall’s home once again.  We eat, hangout, recognize all riders and coaches, say good bye to our seniors and watch the season video! Details forthcoming!

COACH Meeting- Monday, April 13th, 4:00-6:00pm – Local Tap House TBA.  Help decide the future of our team!  Let’s get together to chat about how we want to organize our team in the future.  A prelist of topics and discussion points will be sent out ahead of time.  For both experienced AND new coaches.  If you can’t make it right at 4pm, come any time before 6pm.  Can’t make it?  Just review the list of questions/topic that will be mailed directly to all coaches and send in your suggestions.

Thursday, April 9th  4:00-5:30 (note later ending)- DEL DIOS, Hodgee Lot (the parking lot may be open.  We will all ride the Quick n Dirty Racecourse, practice race starts, strategy and pacing.  Even if you don’t plan to race you will learn something valuable!
