Hello Track Family

Happy Weekend Caiman Track & Field Families 🙂
I just wanted to touch base with everyone in order to discuss the 4×100 relay teams. We’ve got A LOT of talented youngsters on the team this year. So much talent that, we believe, they (girls & boys) can make a run at not only the CAHS varsity school records, but a league championship title and entry into the Division 3 Championships at the end of the season. YES, we have that kind of speed on the team 🙂 In order for us to make it a reality, myself and the other coaches need some assistance from the athletes AND the parents 🙂
The team rule is that athletes must be with the team (practice/meets) at least 3-days a week in order to compete. We would also like to add that for 4×100 relays, handoff drills will be the last Orange Glen practice of the week prior to the meet. If you are on a relay team you need to be at practice for handoffs, period. In addition, members of the 4×100 MUST be at the meet no later than 3:30pm in order to warm up properly and bond with their respective teams. My history in this sport has shown me there’s no guarantee we’ll reach our goals if these parameters are met, but it’s also shown there’s absolutely no chance if they aren’t met.
This is a wonderful group of kids who have a chance to make some noise this season if they so choose, let’s make this happen. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via email or just ask one of us coaches at practice.
Thanks for everyone’s support thus far this season…..we’re just getting started y’all!! 🙂
Best,
James Higgins
