Week 1 — Hold the Line: Courage

HOLD THE LINE
A weekly reflection on character, growth, and the standards that guide our season.

This week marks the start of tryouts, and with it comes a natural mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. That experience is normal—and it’s also where growth begins.

Our focus this week is courage.

Courage isn’t loud. It doesn’t demand attention. Courage shows up in effort, openness to coaching, and the willingness to compete honestly even when the outcome is uncertain. Holding the line during tryouts means choosing bravery over fear—running toward the moment instead of shrinking from it.

Tryouts are not about being perfect. They are about being present, resilient, and committed to growth. Every athlete is evaluated not just on skill, but on response: how they handle mistakes, how they communicate, and how they support those around them.

Regardless of roster decisions, we want every athlete to leave this week knowing they competed with integrity and held the line under pressure. That standard will carry forward into the rest of the season.

Locker Room Mantra: Be brave. Be coachable. Hold the line.
