Girls Water Polo Program Leadership Update
Girls Water Polo Program Leadership Update
Dear Girls Water Polo Families,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to share an important update regarding the leadership of our Girls Water Polo program.
After careful consideration, the school has decided to make a change in the head coaching position. We believe this decision supports the well-being, growth, and experience of our student-athletes. We thank Coach Brian Otto for his time with the program and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.
Moving forward, we are appointing Coach Kate Rivas and Coach Bryce Sammons as Co-Head Coaches for the remainder of the season. Coach Rivas will oversee all administrative duties, while Coach Sammons will lead the on-deck coaching and training responsibilities. Both coaches have demonstrated dedication to our athletes, and we are confident in their ability to guide the team with stability and care during this transition.
You may also see Mrs. Marion, our Assistant Athletic Director, at practices from time to time. As we navigate this period of transition, we want to ensure that someone from the Athletic Department is consistently aware of and attentive to the needs of our Girls Water Polo program.
Please note the following practice schedule updates as we move forward:
- Monday practices will continue at Wagner Aquatic Center from 9:00–10:30 a.m.
- Tuesday–Friday practices at Palomar in the early mornings will remain unchanged.
We appreciate your continued support of our student-athletes and our coaching staff. If you have any questions about the path forward, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for being a valuable part of our water polo community.
Warm regards,
—
Josiah Cruz
