Greetings Interested CAHS Girl’s Tennis Players:

 

You are getting this email because you have signed up for the Girl’s Varsity Tennis Interest list.  

 

We hope you are enjoying the tail end of your summer break!  Touching base once again to remind all of the upcoming 2025 Girl’s Varsity Tennis season Tryouts. It’s around the corner.   Coach Michelle Guerrero and I look forward to seeing new faces and returning players at our 3 day “Mandatory” tryouts.  To Refresh everyone’s memory, the information below  will help you prepare for the upcoming tryouts and expectations of the season.

• Physicals should have all been completed by now.  (No physicals, No Tryouts, No Exceptions)

• Mandatory 3 Day Tryouts are August 13/14/15 3-5pm @ Orange Glen HS Courts
  • Wear loose fitting clothing – (i.e. Wicking tanks/skorts, UV performance shirts etc….)
  • Proper Tennis shoes & socks (No Converse/Running shoes or Skate shoes)
  • Tennis Rackets
  • Lots of hydration
  • Visor
  • Sun Screen
  • Small Towel

• HOME & Practice Courts this season will be at Orange Glen HS.
• Season begins August 18th – November 9th

• Practices are everyday

• Monday 2:45pm – 4:15pm 

• Tuesday – Friday 3:45 – 5:15pm Unless there are Matches
• So far there are 17 Matches scheduled for the season
• Matches run from approx 2:00 – 6pm (includes travel time/warm ups & matchplay)
• Rosters will be announced by August 15th
• Roster will consist of 14 players (depending on # of players at tryouts – There will be cuts)

• First official practice will be Monday August 18th
• Parent Meeting will be Tuesday August 26 and/or Wednesday August 27 at 3:45pm – 4:15pm.  Please make one of those days
• Tentatively First Match will be 9/15 Monday “HOME” vs. Valley Center
• Match/Practices Schedule may change at times due to weather conditions or opponent conflicts.
• Banquet is set for Friday November 7th 6-8:30pm.  Venue TBA
• We will have Two Team Managers helping us this season – Sid Nestman & Ashton Becker.  Both are from the Boy’s Varsity Team and will be an asset to our team and season!  Thank you both for stepping up and helping support the lady Caimans!

That’s all for now.  We can’t stress it enough how important it is for you to acclimate & condition yourselves to the heat & hopefully you have been getting/joining tennis lessons/clinics before tryouts.  It is a “Varsity” team and will be a competitive season.  The more you can immerse yourselves in the game of tennis, rules and etiquette from now til tryouts, it will surely be in your best interest.
