Caiman Football Newsletter – July 27
Week 1: Intentionality
Welcome to the first week of our season-long journey under the banner of Built Different. Everything we do—how we stretch, how we speak, how we rep—either reflects intentionality or reveals a lack of discipline. We’re not interested in being accidental competitors. We are builders, and this week is about doing everything on purpose.
We’re not easing into the season. We’re setting the tone. This week isn’t just about installing plays or conditioning our bodies—it’s about establishing our mindset. Every water break, every whistle, every transition is a chance to show the difference between teams that participate and teams that prepare.
Intentionality is the fuel that powers great habits. It separates champions from pretenders. It’s the player who runs instead of strolls to the huddle. It’s the lineman who fixes his stance mid-drill without being told. It’s the captain who helps a teammate reset before the next rep. It’s the receiver who finishes his route full speed even when he knows the ball isn’t coming his way and gets down field to block for his teammates. It’s the player who helps with the bags and gets the field and drills ready without being asked. It’s the one who prioritizes getting quality sleep, fuels their body with the right foods, and stays hydrated throughout the day. It’s the group that echoes the play call without fail.
These are the behaviors that build a culture worth fighting for. These are the standards we expect in Caiman Football.
Let’s make it clear from Day 1: we don’t go through the motions—we move with a mission. We’re not just putting on pads. We’re putting on purpose.
Gear Handout & Mandatory Parent Meeting
Wednesday, July 30; 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM; Caiman Hall, Studio Campus. Doors open at 6:15p.
Gear handout is just a few days away. That same evening, we will have a Football Parent and CIF Sportsmanship meeting. Every student-athlete is required to have a parent in attendance at the meeting
This meeting is essential for all families. We’ll be covering key information about the upcoming season, team expectations, sportsmanship standards, player safety, communication tools, and more.
While the meeting is underway, players will be checking out their gear with the coaching staff.
Seniors @ 5p
Juniors @ 530p
Sophomores & Freshmen @ 615p
We understand that many parents have work commitments, which is why we’ve scheduled the meeting in the evening. If you have an unavoidable conflict, please email cahsfootball@classicalacademy.com.

Bring Water
It is important to have healthy habits especially in the area of hydration.
As we begin the season, each player should be striving to drink about a gallon of water a day—don’t forget to have some electrolytes as well.
Make sure you/your student-athlete is drinking plenty of water and spending 20-30 minutes outside each day. Water (and electrolytes) will help with hydration; time spent outside will help preparing for heat acclimation.
Athletic Clearances
The Athletics Clearance process must be completed prior to Football gear being handed out this Wednesday, July 30th.
If your primary physician does not have an opening before then, please consider connecting with places like Concentra, Carbon Health, and CVS to complete your sports-physical.
Don’t forget to take this form with you: Preparticipation Physical Evaluation form.
