Girls Tennis Interest Briefing
Good Morning Interested CAHS Girl’s Tennis Players:
You are getting this email because you have signed up for the Girl’s Varsity Tennis Interest.
We hope you are enjoying the beginning of your summer break! I wanted to reach out and touch base to you regarding some important updates and reminders for the upcoming 2025 Girl’s Varsity Tennis season. Coach Michelle Guerrero and I are excited to meet and see new faces and returning players at our 3 day “Mandatory” tryouts. Below are some information that will help you prepare for the upcoming tryouts and expectations of the season.
- DEAD PERIOD June 30 – July 13 (No contact w/Coaches and Players)
- Physicals are due at “HOME CAMPUS” website by July 31st. (No physicals, No Tryouts, No Exceptions)
- Mandatory 3 Day Tryouts are August 13/14/15 3-5pm @ Orange Glen HS Courts
- Wear loose fitting clothing – (i.e. Wicking tanks/skorts, UV performance shirts etc….)
- Proper Tennis shoes & socks (No Converse/Running shoes or Skate shoes)
- Tennis Rackets
- Lots of hydration
- Visor
- Sun Screen
- Small Towel
- Season begins August 18th – November 9th
- Practices are everyday 3:30 – 5pm Unless there is Matches
- So far there are 18 Matches scheduled for the season
- Matches run from 2:00 – 6pm (includes travel time/warm ups & matchplay)
- Rosters will be announced by August 15th
- Roster will consist of 14 players (depending on # of players at tryouts – there will be cuts)
- First official practice will be Monday August 18th
- Parent Meeting will be Tuesday August 26 and/or Wednesday August 27 at 3:45pm – 4:15pm. Please make one of those days
- Tentatively First Match will be 9/15 Monday “HOME” vs. Valley Center
- Match/Practices Schedule may change at times due to weather conditions or opponent conflicts.
That’s all for now. We highly encourage your daughters to start conditioning now and getting tennis lessons/clinics before tryouts. It is a Varsity team and will be a competitive season. The more your daughters can immerse themselves in the game of tennis, rules and etiquette from now til August, it will surely be in their best interest.
